Women Avengers - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Noomi Rapace, see pictures below, in character as Lisbeth Salander in "Män som hatar kvinnor (2009)"(The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) joins the long line of Women Avengers portrayed on film [remember Susan Sarandon in "Thelma and Louise" and Ellen Page in "Hard Candy" to name just a few]. According to cinemag.gr and Despina Pavlaki the protagonist is a "treasure" and "she permeats the whole film with an anarchic sexuality that you never imagined she possesses". The film opens in Greece at cinemas on October 1st, and it's the first of a trilogy.

If you watch this Swedish film... you'll probably be glad that there will be more Lisbeth Salander adventures to come [Swedish title: "Luftslottet som sprängdes" (2009) ... aka "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" and "Flickan som lekte med elden" (2009)... aka "The Girl Who Played with Fire" (International English title)]
